'Pheonix' Royal Jar

This large scale Royal Jar (33cm tall) is hand-thrown in white clay and was fired using the Raku method which 'failed' the clear glazed was damaged in the firing and only adhered to the lower half. Being rescued from the flames by highly polishing and waxing the upper half this unique piece earned its name 'Pheonix' as it rose from the ashes to become a thing of beauty.
